Additional Thoughts:
These wheels are amazing. Handbuilt in the US with US spokes, rims, and hubs. The guys at Atomik are OCD about their wheels, and it really shows in this, their flagship wheelset. Precise, extremely lightweight, with extra damping properties. The BERD spokes were the cherry on top of these wheels. They reduce smaller vibrations, allow the rim to flex a little more, and keep the weight down. These wheels felt the lightest of the group, and while they didn't quite have the suspension-like feel of the ZIPPs and the Spynnergy wheels, they had a more refined feel. These would make EXCELLENT trail and enduro wheels. These felt the most high-end of the group. They don't smash through poor lines like the ZIPPS, but they had a great balance of lateral stiffness, lightweight, and reducing trail chatter. Truly phenomenal wheels. What the team at Atomik has done is nothing short of amazing with these wheels.
Here's where they fell compliance wise in this test:
Nukeproof HZN V2 (least compliant)
Curve Dirt Hoops
Evil Loopholes
Atomik FM30 with Berd Spokes
Spinergy MMX 30
ZIPP 3ZERO Moto (most compliant)
Percieved weight
Atomik FM30 with Berd Spokes (lightest feeling)
Curve Dirt Hoops
Spinergy MMX 30
Evil Loopholes
ZIPP 3ZERO Moto
Nukeproof HZN V2 (heaviest feeling)
